※ 천국 전체가 한 사람으로 보이고, 가장 큰 형태의 신적, 영적인 사람(a Divine spiritual man) 모습이기 때문에, 천국에도 사람에게 있는 모든 지체와 기관들이 같은 이름으로 존재한다. 천사들은 어느 공동체가 신체의 어느 부분에 속하는지 알고 있다.

All Heaven in the Aggregate Reflects a Single Man

천국 전체가 한 사람으로 보이고, 가장 큰 형태의 신적, 영적인 사람(a Divine spiritual man) 모습이기 때문에, 천국에도 사람에게 있는 모든 지체와 기관들이 같은 이름으로 존재한다. 천사들은 어느 공동체가 신체의 어느 부분에 속하는지 알고 있다. 그들은, 이 공동체는 머리에, 또는 머리의 어느 부위에 속한다, 저 공동체는 가슴에, 또는 가슴 어느 기관에 속한다, 아니면 허리와 허리 어디에 속한다는 식으로 말한다. 전체를 보면, 삼층천이 머리부터 목까지를 형성하고, 이층천이 가슴에서 허리와 무릎까지, 그리고 일층천은 발과 발바닥, 팔에서 손가락까지를 이룬다. 팔과 손은 옆에 달려 있어도 사람의 말단이기 때문이다. 이것을 보아도 세 층의 천국이 있는 이유를 알 수 있다. As the whole heaven reflects a single man, and is a Divine spiritual man in the largest form, even in figure, so heaven like a man is arranged into members and parts, and these are similarly named. Moreover, angels know in what member this or that society is. This society, they say, is in a certain part or province of the head, that in a certain part or province of the breast, that in a certain part or province of the loins, and so on. In general, the highest or third heaven forms the head down to the neck; the middle or second heaven forms the breast down to the loins and knees; the lowest or first heaven forms the feet down to the soles, and also the arms down to the fingers. For the arms and hands belong to the lowest parts of man, although at the sides. From this again it is plain why there are three heavens.
