이들 세 교회, ‘아담’(사람, man), ‘셋’, ‘에노스’는 함께 태고교회를 구성하면서도 그러나 퍼셉션에 관한 온전함에 있어서는 차이가 있습니다. 첫 번째 교회의 퍼셉션 역량(faculty)은 앞서 살핀 열매나 씨, 그리고 두뇌의 경우처럼, 그 후속 교회들로 계승되어 내려가면서 점차 줄어들고 흐릿해졌습니다. 완벽(perfection), 완전, 온전함이란 사물을 뚜렷하게 지각하는 역량으로 구성되는데, 이 역량은 퍼셉션이 덜 뚜렷, 덜 명료 및 더욱 평범해지면서 줄어듭니다. 그렇게 전엔 훨씬 명료했던 자리를 이젠 더 모호, 애매해진 퍼셉션이 계승하면서, 퍼셉션은 사라지기 시작합니다. These three churches, “man,” “Seth,” and “Enosh,” constitute the most ancient church, but still with a difference of perfection as to perceptions: the perceptive faculty of the first church gradually diminished in the succeeding churches, and became more general, as observed concerning fruit or its seed, and concerning the brain. Perfection consists in the faculty of perceiving distinctly, which faculty is diminished when the perception is less distinct and more general; an obscurer perception then succeeds in the place of that which was clearer, and thus it begins to vanish away.
