AC.34, 창1:14-17, '하나님이 이르시되 하늘의 궁창에 광명체들이'(AC.30-37)

※ 사랑과 신앙은 분리가 허락된 적이 없습니다. 이 둘은 하나를 이루며, 같은 것이 되어야 하기 때문입니다. 그래서 ‘광명체들’(luminaries)이 처음 언급될 때, 그들은 하나로 간주 되었으며, 그래서 이르시기를, ‘하늘의 궁창에 광명체들이 있으라’(Let there be [sit] luminaries in the expanse of the heavens.)하신 것입니다.

 

14-17절, 14하나님이 이르시되 하늘의 궁창에 광명체들이 있어 낮과 밤을 나뉘게 하고 그것들로 징조와 계절과 날과 해를 이루게 하라 And God said, Let there be luminaries in the expanse of the heavens, to distinguish between the day and the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years. 15또 광명체들이 하늘의 궁창에 있어 땅을 비추라 하시니 그대로 되니라 And let them be for luminaries in the expanse of the heavens, to give light upon the earth; and it was so. 16하나님이 두 큰 광명체를 만드사 큰 광명체로 낮을 주관하게 하시고 작은 광명체로 밤을 주관하게 하시며 또 별들을 만드시고 And God made two great luminaries, the greater luminary to rule by day, and the lesser luminary to rule by night; and the stars. 17하나님이 그것들을 하늘의 궁창에 두어 땅을 비추게 하시며 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens, to give light upon the earth;

사랑과 신앙은 분리가 허락된 적이 없습니다. 이 둘은 하나를 이루며, 같은 것이 되어야 하기 때문입니다. 그래서 ‘광명체들’(luminaries)이 처음 언급될 때, 그들은 하나로 간주 되었으며, 그래서 이르시기를, ‘하늘의 궁창에 광명체들이 있으라’(Let there be [sit] luminaries in the expanse of the heavens.)하신 것입니다. 이어지는 다음의 정말 놀라운 세부적인 내용들을 이런 배경과 관련지어 설명하는 것이 저에게 허락되었습니다. 천적 천사들은 천적 사랑(the celestial love)에 힘입어, 이들은 주님으로부터 오는 이 사랑 안에 있는데요, 신앙 관련 모든 지식에 있어 이 사랑으로 말미암으며, 설명하기가 정말 쉽지 않은 그런 어떤 생명과 지성의 빛 가운데 있습니다. 그러나 이와는 달리, 신앙의 교리들에 관한 지식 가운데 있으면서도 그러나 사랑은 없는 그런 영들의 경우, 그들은 천국 마당의 첫 번째 문턱조차 접근은 고사하고, 도로 달아날 수밖에 없는, 그런 어떤 냉기 어린 삶이나 희미한 빛 가운데 있습니다. 그들 중 더러는 그분의 계명대로 살지 않았으면서도 말하기를, 자기들은 주님을 믿어왔다고 하는데요, 이것을 주님은 마태복음에서 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. Love and faith admit of no separation, because they constitute one and the same thing; and therefore when mention is first made of “luminaries” they are regarded as one, and it is said, “Let there be [sit] luminaries in the expanse of the heavens.” Concerning this circumstance it is permitted me to relate the following wonderful particulars. The celestial angels, by virtue of the celestial love in which they are from the Lord, are from that love in all the knowledges of faith, and are in such a life and light of intelligence that scarcely anything of it can be described. But, on the other hand, spirits who are in the knowledge of the doctrinals of faith, without love, are in such a coldness of life and obscurity of light that they cannot even approach the first threshold of the court of the heavens, but flee back again. Some of them, while not living according to his precepts, say that they have believed in the Lord, and it was of such that the Lord said in Matthew:

 

21나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 다 천국에 들어갈 것이 아니요 다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라 22그 날에 많은 사람이 나더러 이르되 주여 주여 우리가 주의 이름으로 선지자 노릇 하며 주의 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며 주의 이름으로 많은 권능을 행하지 아니하였나이까 하리니 (마7:21-22, 끝까지) Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that doeth my will: many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied through thy name. (Matt. 7:21–22, to the end)

 

[2] 그래서 분명한 것은, 사랑 안에 있는 사람들은 또한 신앙 안에 있으며, 그렇게 해서 또한 천국의 생명(삶) 가운데 있지만, 말로는 자기들은 신앙 안에 있다 하면서 그러나 실제 사랑의 생명(삶) 가운데 있지는 않은 사람들은 그렇지 않다는 것입니다. 사랑 없는 신앙생활은 볕(열) 없는 빛과도 같습니다. 겨울철에도 물론 햇빛은 있지만, 그 빛 안에 열이 없어 결국 아무것도 자라지 못하고 만물이 죽은 듯 무기력해지는 그런 계절처럼 말입니다. 반면, 사랑을 동반한 신앙은 봄철 햇빛과도 같아서, 열매 맺게 하는 햇볕 아래 만물이 자라고 번성하는 것과 같습니다. 이것은 영적, 천적인 것과 관련하여 정확히 일치하는데요, 그래서 말씀에서는 보통 지상에 존재하는 것을 가지고, 영적, 천적인 것을 설명하고 있음을 볼 수 있습니다. 주님은 시대의 끝, 종말을 예언하실 때, 신앙이 없거나 사랑 없는 신앙을 또한 ‘겨울’(winter)로 비유하셨습니다. 마가복음입니다. Hence it is evident that those who are in love are also in faith, and thereby in heavenly life, but not those who say they are in faith, and are not in the life of love. The life of faith without love is like the light of the sun without heat, as in the time of winter, when nothing grows, but all things are torpid and dead; whereas faith proceeding from love is like the light of the sun in the time of spring, when all things grow and flourish in consequence of the sun’s fructifying heat. It is precisely similar in regard to spiritual and heavenly things, which are usually represented in the Word by such as exist in the world and on the face of the earth. No faith and faith without love are also compared by the Lord to “winter,” where he foretells the consummation of the age, in Mark:

 

18이 일이 겨울에 일어나지 않도록 기도하라 19이는 그날들이 환난의 날이 되겠음이라 하나님께서 창조하신 시초부터 지금까지 이런 환난이 없었고 후에도 없으리라 (막13:18-19) Pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, for those shall be days of affliction. (Mark 13:18–19)

 

여기서 ‘이 일’(Flight, 비행, 들림, 휴거)은 마지막 때를, 그리고 모든 사람이 자기가 죽는 때를 의미합니다. ‘겨울’(Winter)은 사랑이 결핍된 삶을, ‘환난의 날’(day of affliction)은 저세상 삶의 끔찍한 상태를 말합니다. “Flight” means the last time, and also that of every man when he dies. “Winter” is a life destitute of love; the “day of affliction” is its miserable state in the other life.

 

※ 휴거는 특히 개신교인들에게 아주 중요한 사건입니다. 주님의 이 말씀을 겉 글자의 뜻 그대로 이해를 했기 때문인데요, 같은 본문의 마태복음 말씀은 다음과 같습니다.

 

그가 큰 나팔소리와 함께 천사들을 보내리니 그들이 그의 택하신 자들을 하늘 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 사방에서 모으리라 (마24:31)

 

AC.4060번 글을 보면, 이 말씀은 새 교회의 일어남을 의미합니다. ‘택하신 자들’은 사랑의 선, 신앙의 선 안에 있는 사람들을, ‘사방에서’는 선과 진리의 모든 상태를, ‘하늘 이 끝에서 저 끝까지’는 교회의 내적인 것과 외적인 것들을 의미합니다. 즉 휴거란, 종말의 때임에도 불구, 여전히 사랑과 신앙의 선 가운데 있는 사람들을 일으켜 주님의 새 교회 세우시는 걸 의미하지, 우리가 아는 것처럼 갑자기 사람들이 공중으로 들림 받고 하는 게 아니라는 말씀입니다. 태고교회 종말의 때에, 그런 암흑과도 같은 상황에서도 노아라는 신앙을 가진 사람들을 통해 주님 신앙을 이어가셨던 것처럼 말입니다. 즉, 그들을 리메인스처럼 보관하셨다가 나중에 쓰신 것입니다.
