There Are Three Heavens

가장 내적 천국(삼층천)에서 받아들이는 주님의 신성을 천적(天的, celestial)이라 하고, 따라서 그곳의 천사들을 천적 천사(celestial angels)라고 한다. 중간 천국(이층천)에서 받아들이는 주님의 신성을 영적이라 하고, 그곳의 천사들을 영적 천사들이라고 한다. 가장 외적 천국(일층천)에서 받는 주님의 신성은 자연적이라고 한다. 그러나 천국의 자연성은 지상의 자연성과 달리 그 안에 천적인 것과 영적인 것이 들어있기 때문에, 이 일층천은 영적-자연적, 천적-자연적 천국이라고 한다. 그리고 그 안의 천사들도 영적-자연적, 천적-자연적 천사라고 불린다.주38 즉 거기서 이층천의 입류를 받는 천사들은 영적-자연적이라 하고, 삼층천의 입류를 받는 천사들은 천적-자연적이라 부른다. 영적-자연적 천사들과 천적-자연적 천사들은 서로 구분되지만, 같은 단계에 있기 때문에 한 천국을 이룬다. The Divine that flows in from the Lord and is received in the third or inmost heaven is called celestial, and in consequence the angels there are called celestial angels; the Divine that flows in from the Lord and is received in the second or middle heaven is called spiritual, and in consequence the angels there are called spiritual angels; while the Divine that flows in from the Lord and is received in the outmost or first heaven is called natural; but as the natural of that heaven is not like the natural of the world, but has the spiritual and the celestial within it, that heaven is called the spiritual-natural and the celestial-natural, and in consequence the angels there are called spiritual-natural and celestial-natural.38 Those who receive influx from the middle or second heaven, which is the spiritual heaven, are called spiritual-natural; and those who receive influx from the third or inmost heaven, which is the celestial heaven, are called celestial-natural. The spiritualnatural angels and the celestial-natural angels are distinct from each other; nevertheless they constitute one heaven, because they are in one degree.

 

 

주38. 세 천국, 가장 안쪽, 중간, 가장 바깥쪽, 혹은 세 번째(삼층천), 두 번째(이층천), 첫 번째(일층천) 천국이 있다. There are three heavens, inmost, middle, and outmost, or third, second, and first (n. 684, 9594, 10270). 그곳의 선들 역시 세 단계 질서를 따른다. Goods therein also follow in triple order (n. 4938, 4939, 9992, 10005, 10017). 가장 안쪽, 즉 삼층천의 선을 천적(天的, celestial), 중간, 즉 이층천의 선을 영적(靈的, spiritual), 가장 바깥쪽, 즉 일층천의 선을 영적-자연적(spiritual-natural)이라 한다. The good of the inmost or third heaven is called celestial, the good of the middle or second is called spiritual, and the good of the outmost or first, spiritual-natural (n. 4279, 4286, 4938, 4939, 9992, 10005, 10017, 10068).
